Harry Marchington was my great grandfather (DH) and the source of so many stories I hope I don’t get carried away.

• 1896, Apr 07 – Born Chapel en le Frith, Derbyshire, England
• 1905, Apr 11 – Emigrated to Canada
• 1915, Jun 12 – Enrolled in the Canadian Expeditionary Force, 35th Canadian Battalion
• 1915, Nov 22 – Embarked for Britain
• 1916, Feb 22 – Embarked for France with the 58th Battalion, 9th Infantry Brigade,
• 3rd Canadian Division. Saw action at the Ypres Salient; Battle of Mont Sorel; the Somme: etc.
• 1917, Nov 23 – Transferred to Canadian Light Railway Operating Company
  – forwarded to 1st Tramways Company , Canadian Engineers
• 1919, May 27 – Honourable discharge
• 1919 – received Meritorious Service Medal
• 1921 June – resided (boarded) at 61 Ferrier Ave., Toronto, ON
• 1921, Sep 28 – Married Mary B. Wilson
• 1931 – resided at 38 Milverton Blvd,Toronto worked for telegraph company
• 1940ish – Moved to tenth line Esquesing Twp., Halton County
• 1950ish – Farm off of hwy. 7, near Limehouse
• 1955 – moved to new build in Silvercreek
